Backstage Beauty Report As the second day of New York Fashion Week came to a close, the fashion crowd spilled out onto the hot and sticky Manhattan sidewalks some of us looking a little, well, worse for wear.

But melted makeup and sabotaged blowouts were far from our minds as visions of textured bed hair, dramatically lined eyes and ethereal skin from the runways danced in our heads. At Kate Spade, the models looked like Hitchcock heroines after a weekend at a villa in St. Tropez. For Carmen Marc Valvo, Romeo Jennings for MAC Cosmetics created an "update on a '50s vibe" giving the models super matte saturated siren red lips and sheer burgundy glossed eyes. At Cushnie et Ochs, Maybelline New York created Cleopatra inspired blocky black cat eyes with Maybelline Color Tattoo Leather in Dramatic kate spade red bag Black, and gave the models dewy, light reflecting skin. The Zimmermann models evoked the "Fifth Element," sporting tiny gold balls underneath their eyes to complement the dusting of shimmery gold at the inner corners. The textured tresses at Costello Tagliapietra had subtle bends at the ends, making the models' hair look like undulating ocean waves as they walked down the runway. The models at Monique Lhuillier looked ethereal as they cascaded down the catwalk.

MAC Cosmetics attached iridescent leaf to the inner and outer corners of the models' eyes, which flashed and glowed once they hit the lights on the runway. It was all about giving good skin at Charlotte Ronson. The models started with mini facials from Skyn Iceland and then makeup artists used TEMPTU airbrush makeup applicators to give the models otherworldly flawless, glowing skin.
